Mountain Burger is dedicated to sustainability, including our goal of reaching net-zero emissions in 2025. We’re excited to introduce you to our blog where every week we’ll be featuring actions we’ve implemented from Mountain Burger’s Climate Action Plan.
You may be asking why we’re doing this in the first place, so to answer that question we have to get serious. Anthropogenic (human activity originating) greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have created an imbalance in Earth’s radiative balance, causing changes in the climate at an accelerated rate of change. In other words, GHGs in the atmosphere are trapping heat and influencing our climate and weather patterns.
We’ve seen the wildfires, the hurricanes, and the floods, whether on the news or in person, but it isn’t just the growing frequency and intensity of these singled-out weather events that are fatal. The abnormal changes in the climate mean entire ecosystems are at stake and so are our clean water, food production, and habitable lands.
So, why are we doing this? Because we want to make a difference. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to sustainable living and sustainable dining. Tackling climate change is a daunting mission, but we’re diving in headfirst. We’re not perfect, we’re learning just like you are, and we’re fortunate enough to have you join us on our journey. Whether it’s a learning opportunity or a seamless implementation, we’ll keep you updated right here on the blog.
